How To Teach Indoor Playground Better Than Anyone Else

If you reside in a place such as we do in Western New York (we're in Rochester!) With superbly hot summers and cold snowy winters, you'll know your choices for your child's birthday celebration are largely dependent on the weather.
As an August baby, we always had little family parties outside at my residence. But, with sons born in November and March, we are constantly left to book an indoor venue for their celebrations, if we decided to have them that season. While those with children with summer birthdays may seem blessed to have numerous options at their disposal, it may also often feel overwhelming.
While in Climbing Vines Cafe and Play we might be biased because we host indoor celebrations, I wanted to share with you the 5 most common reasons we hear out of previous celebration customers to reserve indoor summer birthdays with us. To them, the stress-free temperament of the indoor summertime party is a no-brainer, and they're not looking back! Following their first indoor summer party, they keep hosting with us year after year.

The most common reason for a customer to reserve a summer indoor celebration with us is they don't have to stalk the weather prediction for upgrades in the weeks leading up to the celebration. Nothing can derail a fun celebration quicker than having to cram all your visitors inside your home, waiting for a storm to pass. And if you've ever needed to cancel or postpone your child's birthday because of weather, then you know how heartbreaking that could be.
We get dozens of calls each summer a couple of days before somebody's outdoor party is supposed to happen to see if we have an open slot for them in our indoor playground for kids celebration venue because of weather woes. We can normally pull off this if the place remains open, but hosts will unfortunately need to starve and let all their guests know of the change in place and likely shift in time, and change all their catering requests to accommodate their new party program.
While of course rain is probably the biggest obstacle you may face, extreme heat, unseasonably cool weather, and end may also pose issues for your decorations, food, along with your guests' possessions. You'll probably end up investing in a tent or some other weather barrier simply to ease your mind somewhat, which can be costly and require a great deal of precious time to set up and take down. I will not even tell the narrative of this time my Dad put a tent up for a celebration in a windstorm and wound up with an insurance coverage for 4 ruined automobiles when it blew away (weights and anchors and all!) ...

2) CHANGING IT UP

Aside from the obvious weather concerns it's possible to avoid with an indoor celebration, there can also just be something really straightforward and lovely about an indoor summer party. Guests will not need to be worried about bringing towels and sunscreen and towels and swimsuits and changes of clothes and bug spray... you understand.
Sometimes it's wonderful to take a short break from the outdoors, sip coffee in an air-conditioned cafe, also have an actual conversation with other adults while the children play, instead of chasing kids around attempting to receive their hat on them or keeping them away from the in-ground pool. I am not sure about you, but I can never really relax at an outdoor summer birthday celebration with a 2 and a 4 year-old. While they sure do have a fantastic time running around, we usually leave in a daze or with a tantrum, unsure whether we even had time to chat or check in with everybody.
While I absolutely love a good barbecue or summertime grilling extravaganza, I find it so refreshing when we could take a break from the same-old backyard celebration and spend a couple of hours at a relaxing, cool, and most significantly -- included! -- air.
It's also freeing as a guest to have the remainder of the day to do as we want as a family and not need to be concerned about getting the kids into a tub immediately after the party or stopping home to cool off and change clothing.
I guarantee that if you reserve an indoor celebration for your son or daughter, guests (particularly family) may seem a little confused at first (why not just take advantage of the summer weather while we could, right?) But after hosting countless indoor parties I can tell you for sure that on the day-of, you and your guests will realize how pleasant it is to kick back within an air-conditioned private party for a few hours.

Speaking of how relaxing an indoor, air-conditioned celebration can be, can we discuss food for a second?
Right now, my sweet 4 year-old boy is terrified of bees, and the quickest way to send him into a tailspin is for him to sit down to eat a cupcake or his meal and also have bees swarming around. Therefore, for our family, the meals factor alone would be sufficient to warrant an indoor celebration.
Eating in peace without needing to find colour or a chair or a place away from bugs is one of these things you do not realize can be so glorious before you attend your fourth or fourth outdoor summer gathering and after that get a break from them. Among the most common things we hear is how fine it's to sit and eat and see the kiddos play without having any venue-related cares or worries. This will be particularly important if you're going to be having older family members attend that can battle with being portable in the sand or marijuana and finding seating at outdoor parties.
Plus, when was the last time you attended an outdoor summer celebration with a complete espresso bar and cafe available for guests to enjoy now they don't need to be concerned about running around chasing their kids in the heat? Do not worry, we have you covered there, literally!

4) DECOR OPTIONS GALORE

While celebration aesthetic may not be a deciding factor for every family, it sure is much easier to make a themed extravaganza which lighting a child's face up as soon as the party's inside. The decorations demanded are often less since the area is smaller and included contained, and you won't need to worry about balloons and streamers blowing about or securing table covers .
Because we do host mobile events outside at Climbing Vines Cafe and Play, I will also speak from experience when I say the time it takes to set up (and take down!) Decorations for an outside celebration compared to an indoor celebration generally ends up being double. Finding good places to hang banners, requiring two people to maintain and secure everything, and locating weights or other restraints for everything can be a true hassle on celebration.
And you will have enough to be concerned about this afternoon, right?
Furthermore, if your pinterest planks are filled with adorable figurines, a candy bar, or anything which may be impacted by wind (or bring bees!) You will likely have to restrategize to get an outdoor soiree.
Not to mention decoration typically can only be utilized once if used outside, but repurposed again and again if used for an indoor event. Our guests who sponsor indoor occasions, especially those who invested significant money into decoration or worked hard to make their own, are very happy to find they could usually create a large chunk of the cash back by reselling their supplies on something such as Facebook Marketplace.

Speaking of cash, probably the greatest misconception I hear from clients is they want to host a party at their house to save themselves the leasing fee of an indoor area. I generally laugh at this because it makes perfect sense, that is, if you have never hosted an outdoor celebration.
With all of the"extras" such as tents, chair rentals, extra decorations, weather reinforcements, cleanup provides, games and activities for the children (which you won't need to supply at a play area!) , pool toys, etc.... It's very likely you will end up spending MUCH more hosting a party at your house or an outside venue than you'd inside.
I am not sure how other indoor spaces handle their equipment, but we just charge guests for additional drinks and provides and such on the afternoon of the party should they end up needing themand we also allow parties to bring in their OWN meals, dessert, and decor should they choose!
Money aside, spending countless hours cleaning prior to, during, and following the party may also have a toll. Wouldn't it be wonderful to walk into a sparkling clean area and depart with your guests when the party's over, not having to worry about the clean-up, garbage removal, tent teardown, etc?
It's possible to just go home and unwind with your family (yes, maybe outside!) In a nice clean house that was not just trampled by party guests and all their sand, grass, and sunscreen.
In addition to the time spent cleaning prior to and after the party, wouldn't it ALSO be wonderful to not need to play"server" during the event? Even for clients that make their own food and decor, our committed celebration assistants set up everything, refill and fix food and beverages as necessary, clear plates, cut and serve the cake, and package up all the leftovers in the end of the celebration!
After all, it's your child's special day and you wish to spend those valuable hours making memories and visiting along with your guests-- not running about chasing your decorations or refilling the fruit bowl innumerable times.
So save everybody (and especially your family!) Plenty of anxiety, time, and stress by booking your event with us this summer. We would be honored to provide you with an easy, breezy experience which will leave your whole guest list feeling refreshed, thankful, and full of love after spending a relaxing (yet fun-filled!) day together.
